Dr. Dalton Tidwell is proud to begin his career in family medicine in his hometown of Sherman.

As a native of the area, he is honored to serve the community that helped shape him. Dr. Tidwell is passionate about caring for patients at every stage of life, from age 2 to 102, and values the long-term relationships that family medicine allows him to build.

He completed his undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Texas Tech University in Lubbock (Wreck ’Em Tech!) and remained there to earn his medical degree as well. He then moved to South Carolina, where he completed his residency in Full-Scope Family Medicine at Self Regional Hospital. There, he trained in a wide range of settings, from labor and delivery to the intensive care unit, and developed a special interest in metabolic diseases, including obesity, cholesterol disorders, diabetes, and chronic disease management.

After residency, Dr. Tidwell realized he missed good Texas barbecue—and, more importantly, the sense of home—so he began the search for his next chapter. That search led him full circle, right back to Sherman.

Dr. Tidwell is married to his wife, Lindsay, and they are excited to welcome their first child in December 2025. He looks forward to meeting new patients and walking alongside them in their healthcare journey for years to come.
